Have you overcome your discriminatory biases toward others? If you look deeply inside, can you honestly say that you no longer harbor remnants of racism, sexism, etc.? In order for us to attain the state of acceptance without judgement, the first big step in our evolutionary process, we must accept ourselves and others without judging them. Do you ever think derogatory thoughts about people based on the color of their skin, their gender, the race, gender, or age of someone’s partner; their disability or uniqueness; their religious beliefs; and the like? If you even think this way, you still have work to do. We need to work until we eliminate such primitive ego issues even from our thinking. It is a step in the evolutionary direction to remove such things from our words and actions, but if we continue to think or believe such things, then we cannot grow as people. Accepting yourself, giving to others, making a daily gratitude list, empathy, compassion, and meditation will help you reach this goal. Have you overcome your discriminatory biases toward others?
